‘WALLFLOWERS

A new, 40 year anniversary collection in homage to Andy Warhol, the 10 most endangered animal species and Ronald & Frayda Feldman

40 years ago in 1983, N.Y’s visionary gallerist Ronald Feldman and his wife Frayda, suggested an idea to Andy Warhol. This resulted in Warhol producing a series of 10 artworks of the 10 most endangered animal species at that time. The Forse art collection ‘10-40’ is a revisit to that same idea. 10 works of art featuring the 10 most endangered species 40 years later. Resulting in the 10-40 title of this Forse collection.

The title also revokes the police call 10-40 (meaning ‘silent run, no lights and sirens’) since that’s what these 10 species need from us is our urgency yet they have no way to voice that. As such these ten works aim to engage with that sense of that need, especially since 4 of the animals that were the most threatened in 1983 are STILL on the same list today.

Each original art piece in the series is hand painted in mixed media on reclaimed Plywood. This is part to echo the habitat loss of many of these species but also it’s an expression of Forse’s Scandinavian roots. The visual expression is typical ……………………….

The square format and same sizing on all 10 pecies means that they can be hunged together as for example, 4 in a large square or 3 in a row like a sort of triptyc.

A purchase for your home or office will be a stamp. ………But also help give their need a visual voice.

Forse will give 20% of profits from this series sales to be donated as a split between habitat conservation charities ‘RE-WILD’ and ‘World Wildlife Foundation’
